And it’s only going to get better once more Android apps are going to be added to the Store’s roster, as rumor has it. Furthermore, Windows 11 seems to be driving three times more traffic to the revamped Microsoft Store, according to Microsoft’s own Panos Panay. But is that enough to revive this trainwreck on an application, or are these attempts just too little, too late?

The Microsoft Store still lacks usefull and important software

As we’re pretty sure all of us know by now, what was once the Windows Store has now merged and became part of the Microsoft Store. Nowadays, you can find hardware as well as software on this platform, but the users that do visit the Store leave a bit disappointed, as they either don’t find what they’re looking for, or they find a different, cheap version. Sure, if you’re looking for basic Microsoft apps such as Word, Excell, or other software included in the Office suite, you can find them there. But what about other popular applications from the Redmond tech giant? Needless to say, one of their most successful endeavors is by far Teams. The app’s usage has grown exponentially ever since the global COVID-19 pandemic has started, with almost every other company using it as their main communication/conferencing platform. But can you find Teams on the Microsoft Store? The answer, unfortunately, is no, you can’t. Other important software is also missing and users are starting to see this more like a flea market, than an online app store. Displeased users took to forums and social media platforms such as Reddit to express their opinions vis-a-vis the Microsoft Store, and they weren’t too cheerful. Don’t get the wrong idea, not everyone absolutely hates the Store, however, there are more complaints than good things said about the software. Sure, if you’re looking for some hardware, you’re bound to find something you like and need, but when it comes to useful apps, you’re better off checking the official websites. All this Microsoft talk of revamping and improving the Store has users wondering if this is the best the company can do in this matter.
