The latest Insider Build of the forthcoming Windows 10 version 1803 suggests that the OS will include some brand new options to view and delete logs.
Microsoft enhances transparency regarding collected data
Lots of users have often criticized Microsoft for spying on them by collecting so much data. On the other hand, the company always made sure to explain to users that all the info gathered from systems running Windows 10 is nothing but telemetry data for fixing bugs and improving the OS’s performance. Now, new tools are on the way to allow you to view the data Microsoft collects from the Windows 10 computers.
Users will be able to view and delete diagnostic data
Microsoft plans to introduce two new options in the forthcoming version of Windows 10: Diagnostic Data Viewer and Delete diagnostic data. Both the new features will be available under a new section that will be called Diagnostics & Feedback. You can figure out what these two options will be good for by their names only. The first one, the diagnostic Data Viewer will allow users to view the telemetry information that was gathered and that is supposed to be sent to Microsoft. The second functionality, Delete diagnostic data, will apparently allow users to delete the data before the system send it to Microsoft.
Other privacy options in the works
Microsoft is also experimenting with more privacy-related features that will be included in the next version of Windows 10 such as the access to the dictionary that is generated by Microsoft after tracking the words typed on the PC. It looks like you’ll be able to clear this dictionary and view all the items just the way that they were recorded in the first place. We’ll probably get to see more in-depth details on these privacy improvements in the future version of Windows 10 which is set to be ready for launch sometime in April. RELATED STORIES TO CHECK OUT:
