Windows phone owners have been complaining about battery drain and overheat problems for a long time, but Microsoft hasn’t been able to connect the issue to the update process, nor offer a solid explanation as to why this happens. It appears these issues are caused by the reindexing process following the update install. The phone reindexes the SD card as well, and by removing it the phone stops reindexing, resuming the normal operation mode. The problem is a known issue the phone is starting to overheat, drain battery very quickly, basically refuses to charge (10% takes about an hour) and becomes and unusable brick for 2 days.
