However, just when everybody thought the Redmond giant would officially announce that it stopped its Windows 10 Mobile program, a surprising piece of news appeared: Microsoft is reportedly working on a Windows 10 April Update for mobile devices. There is a very intriguing page called ‘Get the Windows 10 Mobile April 2018 Update‘ on Microsoft’s official website. The respective page offers general information about the Windows 10 Mobile April update and how users can install it. The page was last updated on April, 30 but Microsoft has yet to list any details about the list of eligible phones. The company also noted that availability may vary depending on manufacturer, model, country or region, mobile operator or service provider, hardware limitations, and other additional factors.

So, when exactly will Microsoft push this new OS version to the general public? That’s a very difficult question to answer. We still don’t know if the respective page is nothing but a slip from Microsoft, an automatically generated page or a strategy to test users’ enthusiasm. If, on the other hand, Microsoft’s plans are genuine, we expect the Windows 10 Mobile April Update to land in the coming months or maybe next year. As a quick reminder, Microsoft ended the Windows 10 Mobile Insider program in January 2018. If the company indeed wants to resume the Windows 10 Mobile Insider program, it will need a few more months to thoroughly test the updates. Moreover, by the time the new OS version lands, Microsoft could well change its name since the April Update won’t be relevant anymore. Our two cents is that the elusive ‘Windows 10 Mobile April 2018 Update‘ page is nothing but an automatically generated page and Microsoft will take it down in the coming days.
