Slated for launch early next year, the Creators Update will let you create a folder of app tiles on the Start menu. The feature was recently spotted on build 14997 that surfaced on Christmas day. In addition to the app folder, the build also contains overhauled Settings, pinned tabs in Edge, new theme support, and blue light reduction. The app folder feature works in the same way as it does on Windows Phone 8.1 devices. While it’s not recommended to download an unofficial build, the leaked build 14997 could confirm a lot more features coming in 2017 including the app folder. If you’ve been wondering why Microsoft hasn’t released the new build yet, Dona Sarkar explained that the software giant did not like the current options. Build 14997 won’t be available to Insiders until next week as Microsoft’s Insider Program team is currently on holiday. Anyway, Insiders in the Fast Ring will be able to get their hands on these changes in the first week of January. It’s not clear, though, whether the app folder feature will come to the Xbox One. The recent weeks have seen many previews of what we could expect from the upcoming update. Microsoft is clearly trying to carefully polish the Creators Update prior to its launch in early 2017. Still, some users still hope Redmond will heed their call for other changes to Windows 10 such as the ability to switch off the lock screen. Also, some users don’t find the app folder useful on PC as they think it’s optimized more for mobile devices.
