However, just like all the other builds, this one came with a long list of known issues. Microsoft is currently investigating some of them and suggested some temporary workarounds. As always, the company plans to patch most of them in the upcoming releases.

Windows 10 build 18908 reported bugs

Home edition bugs

Microsoft acknowledged a bug that is affecting some users who are running Home editions.  “Update installed” and “Download progress %” may not be visible on their update history page.

Anti-cheat software bug

Microsoft acknowledged another bug with some older versions of anti-cheat software. Microsoft recommended its users to install the latest versions of games on their devices. The tech giant said that they are working on this issue in collaboration with game and anti-cheat developers.

SD card readers issues

Microsoft is currently investigating an issue with some Realtek SD card readers. Some users reported that they are not working on their devices.

Taskbar search results bugs

Microsoft warns its users that Windows 10 build 18908 may cause some issues for users who use remote desktop connections. The company says that you may need to restart searchui.exe to see the search results.

Graphics Settings page crashes

This build may trigger settings application crashes while navigating to the Graphics Settings page.

Tamper Protection issues

Microsoft says that updating to 18908 ay turn off Tamper Protection on your system. However, users can turn it on.

Bopomofo IME bug

Microsoft confirms that it is aware of an issue with the Bopomofo IME. The company is currently investigating the issue and a fix may be available very soon.

East Asian IMEs

Microsoft warns those users who are updating their systems to Windows 10 build 18908. Some times they may fail to open the IME candidate window for East Asian IMEs. Microsoft promised to release a permanent fix very soon. It is recommended that you should avoid updating your system to the latest version if you want to avoid these issues.
