PowerToys recently got a new facelift to align with the new Windows 11 design. PowerToys PowerToys is a suite of tools, and users can run it on Windows without clicking on the Start Menu. The tool allows users to open a bunch of folders and apps as they please without limitations. The tool is excellent, and given how generous Microsoft has been in hosting third-party apps on their platform, they should probably consider work= with PowerToys to probably create it as a build-in. What does PowerToys offer? PowerToys comes packed with a wide range of features. It has a launcher, image resizing tools, extensions, renaming files, built-in calculator, unit converter and much more. It is currently hosted by GitHub and is totally free. It relies on the user’s keyboard, making it easy to navigate. Simply start typing away once you click on the shortcut and locate whatever you are looking for. Is it better than Windows search? Good question. For game fanatics, it is very common for the Windows button to be disabled. If you need to do a quick search, you have to keep switching on and off. PowerToys is more streamlined, and you won’t need to switch it on and off. Another benefit of using PowerToys is that you will only be searching local files on your PC. Windows search tends to include web results increasing the search time and clouding your results.  According to this Twitter user, the Start Menu is a better option. Like we said above, PowerToys isn’t for everyone. The good thing is, if you want to filter your results, you can! You have total control of your search results. You also get to run apps as administrator right from the search results, which is impossible with the Windows Start Menu. — Sam Tholiya (@ShubhamTholiya) October 8, 2021 PowerToys promises its users more efficiency, and once you get used to it, you might never go back.
