However, when exactly Microsoft will roll out what was codenamed the 19H1 (2019 half one) update remains slightly unclear. The big M still hasn’t confirmed an exact launch date for the first big Windows 10 update of 2019. The Corporate Vice President for Windows, Mr. Fortin, has confirmed that Microsoft plans to release the next big Win 10 update in May 2019. Mr. Fortin stated: So, the Windows 10 May 2019 Update is the next big update for Microsoft’s flagship OS. Note that Mr. Fortin states the next update will be broadly available “in late May.” That highlights the release date for the next Win 10 build update will most likely fall somewhere between May 20 to May 31. Thus, Windows 10’s next build update release date might be about a month off at the time of writing.

Microsoft released the last two Win 10 spring updates in April. Therefore, the software giant is giving the Windows 10 May 2019 Update more weeks of testing to avert a repeat of the October 2018 Update fiasco. Microsoft rereleased that update in November 2018 after it deleted some users’ files. The rollout for that update has been one of the slowest yet. Beyond the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, Microsoft will release the 19H2 (2019 half two) and 20H1 (2020 half one) updates. The software giant has already released Windows Insider preview builds for both those updates. Microsoft will roll out 19H2 and 20H1 to all users in the fall of 2019 (September, October, or November) and spring 2020 (March, April, or May). Before the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Microsoft had seemingly settled on April and October being the regular launch months for its annual build updates. However, things have changed a bit with Microsoft announcing a May release for 2019’s spring update.
