Details on Samsung’s Windows 10 on ARM devices
Samsung is a significant mobile phone manufacturer on the market, and the company is the first one that adopted the new high-end Snapdragon CPUs which are set to power Windows 10 on ARM. Samsung’s devices will follow the same strategy as the other models that are running Windows 10 on ARM. They will feature an extended battery life and potential extras such as detachable screens and S Pen support as well.
Xiaomi’s devices are essential for Microsoft
The fact that Xiaomi became a part of Microsoft’s project is extremely crucial for the latter. Xiaomi is one of the largest companies in China, and it has been selling its products really great. By launching an Always Connected PC, Xiaomi will help Microsoft in its plan to expand Windows 10 on ARM. All foreign companies have been battling to win their place in China, so Xiaomi’s laptops running Windows 10 and powered by the Snapdragon CPUs will provide a massive chance for Microsoft to expand the adoption of its brand new OS in the country.
Pricing and availability
Xiaomi’s Always-Connected PCs are expected to be cheaper than the ones produced by Samsung, but this will definitely also depend on the kind of hardware that these companies will use. Neither one of these two companies has officially confirmed yet their plans to launch these devices. We will probably find out more details about this in early 2018 when the first companies involved in the project would start shipping their own devices.
