If you are a user of Outlook, then you will definitely enjoy the updates that it will bring in Windows 8.1, and if you have a mobile device that works on Windows RT, then you should have it installed automatically on your device.
Outlook 2013 RT Preview gets a facelift
Keep in mind that many features are not yet working, as the product is not fully completed. Just like Windows 8.1, Outlook 2013 RT is still in beta testing and in the following updates you will more and more of its features being brought live. Nevertheless, in this preview version you can see the overhauled user interface of Outlook 2013 RT, which is designed to be used with a touchscreen. Also, at this time, the app only runs in desktop mode, as the Metro version is still under development. There is an entire list of things that still do not work at this moment, but if you wait a while, you will gain access to each and every one of them when the updates start rolling out. If you want to see what doesn’t work yet in Outlook 2013 RT, here’s a list of features you will have to wait a bit for:
Macros Microsoft Exchange DLP policy tips No integration with Lync Personal Archive mailboxes Site mailboxes Online Archive Add-ins Set IRM on new email messages Custom programs
As you can see, most regular user features are available. They are working pretty good, but the enterprise side of the app needs much more work before it will be ready to use. Nevertheless, we trust that Microsoft is hard at work and all of these features will be made available shortly.
