Edge users shared this information on Reddit, as the latest Canary build of the Chromium-based web browser now has a Microsoft Office button. However, keep in mind that this feature is not enabled by default, which means that the testing phase is still an undergoing process.
New Microsoft Office features coming to Edge soon
What this actually means is that, through this new control, Edge could soon offer quick access to Microsoft Office apps or web-based platforms such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, and OneNote. As we mentioned above, the new Office button is disabled by default, but activating this experimental feature is really easy. You have to look for it on the Appearance page, so just start the latest experimental version of Edge and enter the following in the search bar: As you probably know, this page also allows activating or deactivating the appearance of Internet Explorer mode, Web Capture, Share, Games, and other buttons that appear beside the address bar. The Office toggle is available right above the Feedback button. But the trick is that, even if you don’t enable it, Microsoft has still added Microsoft Office access to the ellipsis menu. Furthermore, activating the Office button also adds a dedicated button to the toolbar, that activates a sidebar with access to all the Microsoft Office suite platforms.
