The latest stable release (4.6.1) was released on November 17, 2015 after took eight months. The availability of the .NET Framework 4.6.2 was announced on August 2 and this new version comes with changes based on developer feedback. Many improvements were made to the Base Class Library, Common Language Runtime, ClickOnce, ASP.NET, SQL, Windows Presentation Foundation and Windows Communication Foundation. Changes made to the Base Class Library include SignedXml implementation with support for the SHA algorithms: RSA-SHA256, RSA-SHA384, RSA-SHA512 PKCS # 1 signature procedure, SHA256, SHA384 and SHA512 Reference-digest algorithms. Also, in ClickOnce was brought support for TLS 1.1 and 1.2 protocols. Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 (Web Installer) is compatible with Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2. In order to install it, your device must be connected to the internet. The .NET Framework 4.6.2 Offline Installer can be downloaded here and this package can be used in situations where your internet connection doesn’t work and you’re unable to use the web installer. .NET Framework 4.6.2 Developer Pack can be downloaded here and it installs the .NET Framework 4.6.2, the .NET 4.6.2 Targeting Pack and the .NET 4.6.2 SDK.
