Microsoft has redesigned its Teams Store to make it easier for you to find and install apps to enhance your chats, meetings, and other work-related activities. According to a Microsoft blog post, the Windows Store is being redesigned with better categories of curated apps. The new store will roll out over the next month. Microsoft hasn’t yet been able to make its Windows 10/11 Store for apps appealing. However, the company is making changes to their Teams desktop client’s app store to make it easier for people to discover and install new software. The new app is a carousel at the top of the page that displays apps users might be interested in. Microsoft has curated some collections of apps and promises to update them on a monthly basis.
Personalized recommendations
Microsoft plans to offer personalized recommendations for new app downloads that will depend on how people work with their colleagues. Moreover, this will make it easier for Team users to connect with their teammates and find what’s popular in businesses or in schools. The company is also adding a collection of the most popular applications used on it. Of course, the number of Teams apps can’t compare to the number available for iOS and Android. Although, Microsoft still claims over 1000 apps are available in its Teams mobile app store. Developers can publish apps through the Teams client’s app store and distribute them to Microsoft AppSource, the marketplace for all Microsoft 365 apps.
New categories on Teams
The categories and their subcategories support all types of apps, from line-of-business apps to Power Apps that are made for a specific company. Also, the segments are broken down by functions and industries. Microsoft has not made any announcement about how to leave app reviews on the Windows Store. However, the company says it is redesigning the app installation screen and adding new features to help users find apps in its store soon.
