“If your idea is better suited to an Office doc than a napkin, you can click the new plus button to create Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files instantly from your mobile device. They’ll be saved to your Dropbox automatically,” says the official blog post on Dropbox’s website. If you want to create a new Office file from within your Dropbox iOS app, you just need to tap on the small plus (+) button on the screen, and it will automatically create a new Word document, an Excel sheet, or a PowerPoint presentation. “The new plus button in the Dropbox iOS app adds a convenient way to create and save Office documents on the go, helping people work better together, wherever they are,” said Rob Howard, Director of Office Marketing at Microsoft. Despite the fact that Microsoft and Apple are two bitter rivals on the playground, Redmond’s services are actually quite popular among iOS users. Of course, Office is Microsoft’s most popular service on iOS devices, so every improvement, no matter if related to Office for iOS itself, or some third-party app (Dropbox in this case) will certainly be welcomed. The latest update for Dropbox for iOS didn’t only bring updates related to Microsoft’s products. It also brought better document scanning options, the ability to manage files and media from your computer, and more.
