DISM GUI was written in .NET, being an application that provides basic features for managing drivers, mounting image files etc. In order to mount a WIM (Windows Imaging File Format) file, you will first select it, then choose the folder that will be the mount location, but which will be empty. To find more information about the WIM file selected, just click on Display WIM Info and the details will appear in the text area below. After reading the text, click on Mount WIM and let the process start. After mounting the image, you will be able to add drivers by clicking on the Driver Management tab from the top bar and choosing the folder where you’ve stored the drivers. Then, you will click on “Add Drivers” and they will be added to the image file. In addition, if you change your mind and want to delete a specific driver, there’s a “Delete Driver” option below. Besides drivers, you can add packages as well, and you will click on the Package Management tab from the top bar, then follow the same steps. Other utilities offered by DISM GUI include Feature Management, Edition Servicing, Application Servicing etc. The application was created by Mike Celone from https://mikecel79.wordpress.com, and the most recent version requires NET framework 4.0. The author has corrected some spelling errors and added Capture and Apply tabs, as well as a Read Only option to the mount control tab. DISM GUI was also updated for DISM 6.3.
