Microsoft shows off Dark Mode features upon user feedback
More specifically, Dark Mode for New Tab page (NTP) is finally enabled in Edge Canary. The Dark Mode for NTP was announced almost a month ago, when Microsoft confirmed it after a lot of user feedback. It was, and it still is, one of the most requested features. Now, in Edge Canary version 78.0.245.0, the feature seems to be enabled, as one Chromium Edge user confirms: And here’s the OP’s screenshot:
Not everyone gets the new Dark Mode for NTP
While Dark Mode for NTP is enabled for this particular user, others don’t have the option in their Chromium browser: This leads to the conclusion that Microsoft still releases the new features gradually, as a result of their Controlled Feature Rollout (CFR) program. So, if you’re on Edge Canary version 78.0.245.0 or later, and you don’t see the Dark Mode for NTP option, that’s because of Microsoft’s A/B testing, and you’ll get it in the next few days.
