In keeping with the trend, they’ve released a roadmap of what new exciting features are coming in the future for Microsoft Edge. This roadmap is based on Edge Insider feedback and contains all of the most sought-after features that users want. While the changes that they are planning are plenty in numbers, there are a few that stand out more than others. Admittedly, those that used Microsoft Edge from the very beginning, before it was Chromium-based, will probably recognize these features.

You can sync the browsing history between devices

Probably one of the most sought-after features from classic Edge, the ability to sync your browsing history between devices will soon be available to the Chromium-based Edge as well. The only condition for this feature to work is that you log into all devices using the same Microsoft account, or use one that is synced with it (for Android and iOS users).

PDF files will now have read-aloud support

Microsoft already has a tool that allows you to read texts called Narrator. According to the roadmap, reading PDF files aloud will be possible, but they didn’t specify whether they will be using Narrator integration or a dedicated reader created especially for Edge.

You will now be able to ink on web pages

This feature is something those with touch-enabled screens will be overjoyed to hear about. While some users prefer to bookmark webpages, others also like to leave notes and doodles on certain text fragments. This is something that you will be able to do on Microsoft Edge in the near future. Unfortunately, no news on specific launch dates is yet available. According to the roadmap, Edge Insiders should see most of the new features somewhere in February, while others are simply marked as Planned.
