It is no longer surprising to see developers abandoning the Windows Phone platform. Several factors are spurring the exodus, including a dwindling user base and collapsing market share, making Amazing Weather HD one of the latest apps to wave goodbye to Windows Phone. Most recently, popular mobile network EE from the UK dropped support for its user account management app on the Windows Phone platform. EizSoft’s decision comes as no surprise since the company already announced in December of last year that it would eventually abandon Windows Phone. So, why is the app’s departure from Windows Phone such a big loss? For one, Amazing Weather HD includes a slew of impressive features. According to the app’s Windows Store listing, Amazing Weather HD features:

5 Live tiles and with auto location feature using GPS Different cities and an optional auto location using GPS Customizable Live tiles themes for each city and two cool themes Weather Alerts – Astonishing animations based on current conditions, and daily forecast Detailed current conditions data including UV, wind, visibility, humidity, pressure and more Seven days quick view weather forecast Detailed text and daily forecast.- Radar, infrared and satellite imagery Access to nearby Personal weather stations using GPS location Access to nearest station using GPS location Weather data provided by Weather Underground Medium daily live tile More info on the main screen (swipe up)

Nonetheless, users can still check for weather updates through Microsoft’s proprietary weather app, though it does not include alerts. AccuWeather also remains available on the Windows Store, so users still have a lot of options, although not as fully featured.
